An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team, as the Principal Pharmacist, Education and Training.

We are seeking a friendly, supportive and motivated pharmacist passionate about education and staff development.

This highly rewarding role focuses on front-line training and offers the chance to make a real impact.

You will lead the design and delivery of training for Trainee Pharmacists, oversee university placements, and work with external partners to ensure excellent learning experiences.

You will also contribute to evolving pharmacy training programmes and support education for the wider healthcare team.

The role involves collaboration with colleagues across Trust and ICBs to deliver innovative and effective training strategies.

You will need good interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to organise and prioritise your work. We will provide appropriate training to aid your personal and professional development.

The postholder will

  • Plan, implement and monitor the education and training of all pharmacy staff across the Trust such that it reflects the needs of the staff and the service and meets required professional standards.
  • Co-ordinate and chair Local Faculty Group meetings
  • Serve as Education Programme Director for pharmacy education at the Trust, working collaboratively with counterparts across the South West London Acute Provider Collaborative to co-ordinate and deliver regional education and training initiatives.

Cross-site work will be required to meet service needs and may include covering for leave and working weekends/bank holidays.

You will participate in late duty, Bank Holiday and weekend rotas and be part of a seven day service.

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey.
