We are currently recruiting for a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and community-focused primary school in Newham. This role will involve supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping to create a positive learning environment and supporting students as they work towards their academic goals.
The school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, supportive staff team, and commitment to delivering a creative and high-quality education for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to support daily lessons and classroom activities
- Deliver targeted small-group interventions in Literacy and Numeracy
- Provide additional support for pupils with specific learning needs or pastoral requirements
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils during break and lunch times where required
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children within a primary school or educational setting
- A proactive, adaptable, and patient approach to supporting learning and development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
