Our client, a highly-regarded educational institution in Walthamstow, Greater London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners, with a competitive daily rate of £93 - £105.

As a Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Your role will involve working closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the academic, emotional, and social development of each student.

Key responsibilities in this part-time role include

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, and physical disabilities.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individualised education plans and behaviour support strategies.
  • Facilitating engaging and accessible learning activities that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborating with the classroom teacher to adapt resources and modify lesson plans to ensure all students can participate and thrive.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress, behavioural patterns, and any concerns, to inform future support and intervention.
  • Participating in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience

  • A relevant qualification in education, such as a teaching assistant diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role supporting students with special educational needs.
  • A strong understanding of the diverse needs of students with SEN and the ability to adapt your approach accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of young learners.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
