About the role and school
We are seeking a qualified SEN Teacher with strong experience in ASD, Autism and Complex Needs to join a specialist SEN school in Waltham Forest from September on a temporary basis until the post is filled. This SEN Teacher role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who is confident delivering highly differentiated learning and providing strong pastoral support.
This SEN Teacher will take responsibility for a tutor group, ensuring all pupils' Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) provision is fully met. The SEN Teacher will be joining a highly supportive specialist setting with a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and personalised learning pathways.
This SEN Teacher role would particularly suit someone with experience supporting pupils with Autism and Complex Needs, with Vision Impairment experience considered a strong advantage. The SEN Teacher will be part of a committed multidisciplinary team working to ensure outstanding outcomes for all learners.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, individualised teaching as a SEN Teacher
Take responsibility for a tutor group as a SEN Teacher ensuring pastoral care and EHCP provision
Plan, prepare and implement engaging learning activities as a SEN Teacher
Create a positive learning environment in line with behaviour expectations as a SEN Teacher
Assess, record and report pupil progress as a SEN Teacher
Work in partnership with parents, staff and external professionals as a SEN Teacher
Lead a class team to deliver outstanding outcomes as a SEN Teacher
Qualifications/Experience
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
· Experience as a SEN Teacher within ASD, Autism or Complex Needs
· Vision Impairment experience desirable
· Strong knowledge of SEND and EHCP provision
· Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
· Right to work in the UK
