About this role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) to join the Liver Unit team based on the 10th Floor at St Mary's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist consultant-led hepatology service, supporting both patients and the multidisciplinary team across multiple hospital sites.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting consultant-led liver clinics and nursing services, while also contributing to the expansion of the FibroScan service across the Trust.
- Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision.
- Running booked FibroScan clinics throughout the week.
- Providing real-time FibroScanning alongside consultant clinics.
- Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
- To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence based practice.
- Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by the senior sister or charge nurse.
- Take responsibility for self-development through the appraisal system and work towards completing agreed personal development plan.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Trusts Nursing Strategy .
- Conduct oneself in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies.
