CompetitiveAbout the RoleWe are looking for a reliable and flexible Driver to join our Special Events team, supporting the Metropolitan Police Service. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role where you'll play a vital part in the deployment and collection of traffic management equipment for major, high‑profile events across London.

You'll work as part of a collaborative team, supporting operational delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

-Deploy and collect traffic management equipment and temporary signage

-Deliver, set up, and operate equipment including tents, generators, lighting, and trailer‑mounted VMS units

-Assist with general maintenance and fabrication activities within the workshop

-Deliver furniture and white goods to MPS premises

-Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain tools and equipment

-Undertake training and share skills and knowledge with colleagues

Requirements

-Proven experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle

-CPC modules completed or in progress (LGV Class 2 licence desirable)

-Chapter 8 Sign, Light & Guard certification desirable

-Ability to successfully pass CTC Police clearance

-Flexible approach to working hours, including out‑of‑hours and call‑out duties
