About this role
This is a Registrar level post at ST3+ or equivalent level for those who can perform clinical duties at the level of Intensive Care Registrar. A background in anaesthesia, EM or medicine (with appropriate ICM experience and clinical skills) is essential. A strong interest in medical education, in particular the delivery of simulation teaching is key. The post-holder must possess the organisational and leadership skills necessary to develop and expand the simulation service. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Minimum of 3 years broad anaesthetic / intensive care medicine experience and a postgraduate qualification acceptable to FICM (e.g. FRCA, MRCP, FRCEM, FFICM) Possession of a basic medical qualification acceptable to the GMC for registration Desirable Some experience of research; prizes, presentations, publications Able to inspire other staff Professional Requirement Essential Possession of a basic medical qualification acceptable to the GMC for registration Provision of two structured supportive references from supervising consultants, both of whom must have worked with the applicant within the last five years Knowledge and skills Essential Appropriate knowledge and practical skills to recognise and manage critically ill patients.
