Trust Doctor (eqv to ST5) in Cardiology

About this role

To support all cardiac imaging modalities [cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, advancedechocardiography (exercise/dobutamine/CPEX stress, deformation and 3Dechocardiography, TOE) and nuclear cardiology]. This will include supervising andperforming studies (after appropriate training and competency assessment),reporting studies on patients, maintaining patient safety at all times and assisting inthe smooth running of these departments. To provide, as part of the rota for cardiac imaging and specialised services, supportfor the outpatient, inpatient and MDT management of specialised cardiology servicepatients (cardio-oncology, heart muscle disease, advanced heart failure, preventivecardiology).

There is approximately a 1

7 9AM-5PM ward week at UCLH providing a cardiologyconsult service under consultant supervision to the Medical Assessment Unit, ITU,oncology and other wards. Providing cardiology advice (with the support of thecardio-oncology team) at Europes largest haemato-oncology unit at UCLH is a keycomponent of the consult service. Specialist nursing support is available. The non-consult weeks typically involve 3-4 sessions of training in advancedimaging/cardio-oncology/advanced heart failure/inherited heart disease (as per theclinical fellows career requirements), 2-3 clinics (general cardiology/specialisedcardiology) and sessions for admin/research/audit/teaching. The rota is compliantwith the European Working Time Directive
