Operational Support Officer - HMCTS
WILLESDEN COUNTY COURT
£15.59 per hour
Temporary contract via Brook Street until 30/10/2026
Full-time - 37 hours per week Fully Onsite.
Brook Street is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), an agency of the Ministry of Justice, as an Operational Support Officer based at Willesden County Court.
This is a busy, customer-facing role suited to candidates with strong communication and administration skills who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis.
About the Role
Willesden County Court handles a range of civil matters including
- Businesses recovering unpaid debts
- Personal injury compensation claims
- Land and trespass disputes
- Personal debt cases
You will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the court, providing excellent customer service to court users, legal professionals, judiciary members, and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Ushering court hearings both in person and via Microsoft Teams
- Calling cases and supporting judges during hearings
- Meeting and greeting court users and providing front desk support
- Managing busy reception and waiting areas
- Dealing with a high volume of enquiries from multiple stakeholders
- Supporting members of the public, legal representatives, judiciary, and internal court staff
- Preparing courtrooms and documents for hearings
- Liaising with judges, legal representatives, and court staff
- Processing court orders and updating electronic systems
- Scanning documents and transferring files
- Scheduling hearings and serving court documentation
- Collecting court fines and fees using chip and pin systems
- Maintaining professionalism and efficiency within a busy court environment
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong customer service and communication skills and admin experience
- Experience working in a busy office, reception, or public-facing environment
- Good Excel and IT skills
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively
- Confident working independently and using initiative
- Positive, professional, and adaptable approach

- Office-based role only - no working from home
- DBS check required prior to starting
- Security clearance checks take approximately 2-3 weeks
