Casualty Claims Adjuster

Your new company

An established and well‑respected Lloyd's market insurer is seeking to appoint a Casualty Claims Handler to join its London‑based Claims team. The business specialises in writing international, complex risks and has a strong reputation for technical underwriting and high-quality claims service across the London and wider global markets.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of Casualty claims, with exposure across classes such as General Liability, Environmental and specialist casualty risks. You will manage claims from first notification through to settlement, ensuring that files are handled accurately, proactively and in line with market and regulatory standards.

You will assess coverage, set and maintain reserves, and work closely with brokers, insureds, adjusters and legal representatives to drive claims through to resolution. The role will involve regular engagement with underwriting, finance and reinsurance teams, ensuring claims trends and large loss developments are communicated effectively.

You will also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced claims professionals, gaining exposure to complex and high-value claims while continuing to develop your technical expertise within a structured and supportive environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you will have prior experience handling Casualty claims within the Lloyd's or London Market, ideally across liability classes. You will have a strong understanding of claims processes, including coverage analysis, reserving and stakeholder management, as well as experience using systems such as ECF.

You will demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously and confidence in communicating with brokers, insurers and external stakeholders. A commitment to ongoing professional development, including CII qualifications, is desirable.
