About this role
Assistant Development Manager (Land & Partnerships)
Are you a recent graduate or early in your career and looking to break into the world of property development, housing and regeneration? This is an exciting opportunity to join Peabody, a leading housing association, where you’ll help deliver high-quality homes and create thriving communities across London and the South East.
As an Assistant Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Land & Partnerships team on a wide range of development projects. You’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle, from identifying sites and assessing opportunities, through to planning and project delivery. Working closely with experienced colleagues, consultants and partners, you’ll build your knowledge and develop the skills needed for a successful career in the sector.
This is an ideal role for a motivated and organised individual, particularly a recent graduate in real estate, construction or a related field, who is keen to learn and grow within a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll be involved in appraising new opportunities, supporting early-stage project work, coordinating teams, contributing to procurement processes and helping to manage timelines, budgets and risks. You’ll also build strong working relationships across the business and with external partners.
We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in housing and development, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll be proactive, eager to learn and confident working as part of a team. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, are important, and any understanding of the property or housing market would be beneficial but is not essential.
The role is based at our Waterloo office, with a hybrid working pattern that includes time in the office and on-site. In return, Peabody offers a competitive benefits package including generous annual leave, pension contribution, life assurance, volunteering days and access to flexible benefits that support your wellbeing and work-life balance.
Please note that Peabody does not provide sponsorship as a licensed UK employer.
