3 June 2026 William Booth College is based in Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8BQ. The college delivers learning and development opportunities for residential students, day delegates and course attendees. Conferencing facilities are utilised by both internal and externally run event organisers. We support this by providing services which include overnight hotel style accommodation, housekeeping, catering, estates and maintenance, a library, hospitality and front of house, finance and administration.We are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to join the Business Services Team at William Booth College (WBC).WBC finance facilitates financial matters for students, staff, visitors, members of the public and suppliers.

Job Summary and Key Responsibilities

To manage the processing of income and expenditure at WBC and account maintenance, process time sheets for relief staff and to assist the Deputy Director Business Services Unit with budget preparation.To be successful in this role you will have:Strong experience of successfully providing a wide range of financial support services in a busy and varied accounting office environment Significant experience of undertaking high volume accurate input and processing activity Proven experience of using finance IT systems to input data and export reports Demonstrable strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the proven ability to convey processes/procedures to customers/colleagues in a clear, effective and professional manner Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong, successful, and collaborative working relationships Intermediate level Excel skills and proven strong experience of using IT software such as Microsoft Office and Outlook to enhance and improve the delivery of your dutiesDemonstrable pro-active approach to your work, with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise your tasks to effectively meet your objectives to the expected quality standards and time scales with minimal supervision both as an individual and as part of a team The ability and willingness to work within and be empathic with the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission In order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and evidence of your Right to Work in the UK in line with Home Office requirements.As we are not a licensed sponsor, applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
