About this role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Team Lead Nurse to provide clinical and operational leadership to the Special School Nursing Service in Brent. You will lead a dedicated team supporting children and young people with complex and additional health needs across four special school settings, enabling them to safely access education and achieve their full potential.
Working collaboratively with families, education providers and multi-agency partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, inclusive and person-centred care, while driving service development and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
The main duties of the Team Lead are to provide line management to the team, provide clinical support using their knowledge and expertise to ensure a safe service is delivered and to work with all relevant partner agencies whilst following and adhering to the CLCH policies.
- Provide strong clinical and professional leadership to the Special School Nursing Team, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality care delivery across the service.
- Line manage and support staff through supervision, appraisal, and ongoing professional development, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Oversee the assessment, planning and review of care, ensuring robust healthcare plans are in place to support children in educational settings
- Work collaboratively with families, schools and partner agencies to coordinate care and support children with complex health needs.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, clinical governance, and organisational policies, promoting best practice and patient safety.
- Lead on service development, quality improvement and audit activity to continuously enhance the service and meet local and national priorities.
- Represent the service at internal and external meetings, advocating for the needs of children and young people with SEND.
- Support the integration of health, education and social care services to improve access, reduce inequalities and deliver joined-up care.
