Our client, a leading educational organisation in Islington, London, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-time Behaviour Mentor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioural development, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to develop positive coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and productive behaviours. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to establish individualised plans that address each student's unique needs and challenges.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of child and adolescent psychology, as well as a proven track record of successfully implementing behaviour management techniques. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students are essential. You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse, and collaborative environment.

In this position, you will be responsible for the following duties

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing their social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Developing and implementing individualised behaviour support plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting support strategies as needed
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation to track student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Participating in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities to continuously improve your practice
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive school culture by modelling appropriate behaviours and fostering a safe, nurturing environment

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or education
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role, supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Thorough knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies, including de-escalation and conflict resolution
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing individualised behaviour support plans
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay up-to-date with best practices in the field

In return, our client offers a competitive daily rate of £108.68 - £120 per day, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment. The position is full-time, and the successful candidate will be based in Islington, London.
