The Opportunity

Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision for deaf pupils in the Haringey area.

The setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Deaf and hearing-impaired learners, alongside Autism, communication needs, and learning difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver inclusive, accessible teaching within a structured and supportive environment.

Experience working with Deaf pupils is highly desirable, and a Teacher of the Deaf (ToD) qualification would be an advantage, though not essential.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to SEN learners

* Support pupils with hearing impairments and additional needs

* Adapt teaching methods to ensure accessibility (e.g. visual supports, communication strategies)

* Work closely with specialist staff, including interpreters and support workers

* Implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

* Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

* Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting strategies as required

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Experience working with SEN pupils

* Experience supporting Deaf or hearing-impaired pupils (desirable)

* Teacher of the Deaf (ToD) qualification (preferred but not essential)

* Strong communication and behaviour management skills

* Patient, adaptable, and inclusive teaching approach

* Understanding of safeguarding and SEND best practice
