About Us
Hello and a very warm welcome to Acacia Preschool in New Malden, where we believe that the best way to develop a child’s social, emotional and physical skills is through positive play. At Acacia, we strive to keep children safe and happy in their learning environment. The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Preschool, ensuring all operational, legal and organisational obligations are met.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering a safe, inclusive, and high-quality early years provision that supports children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. They will ensure full compliance with all statutory and legal requirements, maintaining high standards in safeguarding, health and safety, and early years regulations. This role involves leading and managing staff on a day-to-day basis, providing guidance, support, and supervision to promote a positive and effective team environment. The Manager will contribute to the development, implementation, and review of early years policies and procedures, ensuring best practice is consistently followed across the setting. What we’re looking for
· At least two years’ proven management experience within an early years setting
· A minimum of a Level 3 early years qualification
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of childcare professionals, including conducting performance management processes e.g. induction, supervision meetings, appraisals and setting objectives.
· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
· Ability to ensure that the setting achieves high-quality outcomes following Ofsted inspections
· Sound understanding of child development, and of children’s needs.
· Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum, taking into account the SEN Code of Practice, child protection procedures and equal opportunities considerations.
· Extensive knowledge of current legislation relevant to early years, including Prevent Duty and to comply with the requirements placed on the setting by the EYFS Statutory Framework.
· Ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, staff and outside agencies.
· Ability to effectively market the setting to maximise occupancy levels and fee income.
· Commitment to equal opportunities and an understanding of equality and diversity issues.
· Ability to write clear reports.
· Knowledge of data protection and information management practices and their application within the setting.
Working hours
On site
8am until 3:30pm every Monday to Friday, during term time.
Additionally, flexible working from home hours will also be required. Exact hours to be discussed further at interview.
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
Shortlisting will begin the week beginning April 27th, with interviews taking place from the following week.
