We are seeking a Shift Team Leader to oversee and lead the technical services operations and maintenance team, ensuring the effective implementation of site maintenance activities.

This role performs supervisory functions common to a facility maintenance and utility plant operations environment, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and operational continuity.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced facilities professional who can lead a small on-site team, coordinate contractors, and ensure all planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed to standard.​

The role requires hands-on problem solving, clear delegation, and availability to support 24/7 operational and emergency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the operations and maintenance team, reviewing performance and ensuring quality standards are met.

Assign and manage work tickets and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) work orders for the O&M team.

Ensure all PPMs and reactive work orders are completed as scheduled each month, taking corrective action where required.

Maintain and manage site Operations & Maintenance documentation, including drawings, manuals, and site operator documentation.

Review, edit, and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs in line with site operational requirements.

Coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring safe access, supervision, and protection of critical load at all times.

Manage safe systems of work, including switching, lockout/tagout, and safe working area set-ups for specialist works.

Support the Facility Manager with reporting, subcontractor quotations, compliance with company, client, and HSEQ requirements.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Facilities Management background with experience delivering PPMs and reactive maintenance.

Proven experience overseeing or leading a small on-site engineering team.

Strong on-site problem-solving skills and the ability to delegate workloads effectively.

Fully electrically qualified (18th Edition, C&G, or NVQ Electrical Installations) or mechanically qualified (e.g. Gas or AC).

Comfortable working within procedural limitations and available for 24/7 shift and emergency call-out support.
