About this role

Job summary

· To ensure the provision of day to day administrative functions in ED; making sure the areas are running effectively and efficiently and providing high standards of performance. With particular reference to patient experience and care, quality assurance and efficient administrative processes will include supervision of administrative staff.

· To ensure the 24/7 smooth running of Reception and Patient Navigator role including ensuring shifts are filled as soon as the vacancies are evident.

· To pro-actively assist with the management of issues raised at administration meetings as necessary.

· To produce and manage admin rotas, ensuring appropriate and adequate cover twenty four hours a day.

· To Co-Ordinate departmental training courses.

Recruitment and training to include

· To assist with shortlisting, interviewing and recruitment of staff

· Induction of new ED Administration staff to the department

· Training to ensure ED Administration staff are competent to cope in the event of a major incident and all mandatory training is up to date

· Completion of leavers and variation forms

· To follow Trust Promoting Attendance Policy and complete return to work interviews as required.

· To assist with workforce data required by Human Resources, including completion of the blue positive reporting book/iPoint/E-Rostering.

· To assist the Ed Service Admin Manager with design and distribute admin rotas, maintaining adequate level of staff including management of AL requests escalating any issues.

· To be responsible for checking bank shifts for authorisation by the ED Service Delivery Manager

· To review staff as part of the KSF process, and ensure that staff have an ongoing training plan

· To assist co-ordinating of ED Administration meetings and ensure a robust communication between staff

· To ensure that Admin staff are encouraged to complete their statutory and mandatory training
