Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to take the next step in your career? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established small animal practice in the heart of Putney as a Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse, combining hands-on nursing with leadership responsibilities in a supportive and friendly environment.

This role is ideal for a confident RVN who enjoys mentoring colleagues, maintaining high clinical standards and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of a busy first opinion practice.

The Role

As Senior RVN, you will work closely with the senior veterinary surgeon to oversee the daily clinical and operational functions of the practice while remaining actively involved in all aspects of veterinary nursing.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the practice
  • Leading by example and maintaining excellent clinical standards
  • Theatre and anaesthesia nursing
  • Inpatient care and patient monitoring
  • Nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures
  • Equipment maintenance and stock management
  • Diary coordination and workflow organisation
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Building strong relationships with clients and their pets

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN who wants more responsibility while continuing to fully utilise their clinical skills.

Hours & Work Pattern

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • 4-day week considered
  • 1 in 4 branch Saturdays
  • 1 in 10 Sundays
  • 1 bank holiday per year
  • Paid lunch breaks
  • No on-call responsibilities

The rota is designed to provide an excellent balance between professional development and personal time.

The team includes

  • Senior Veterinary Surgeon
  • Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon
  • Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Experienced clinical support team
  • Dedicated Manager for additional support

Out-of-hours care is provided by a nearby 24-hour hospital, allowing the team to focus on delivering exceptional first opinion care during the day.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary from £34,000 to £39,000 depending on experience

About You

You will be

  • RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Experienced in small animal general practice
  • Confident in anaesthesia, theatre and inpatient care
  • Comfortable taking on leadership responsibilities
  • Organised and proactive
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional patient and client care
  • Supportive and encouraging to colleagues

Previous senior nursing experience is beneficial but not essential for the right candidate.
