In the Finance team at Asda the focus of an analyst is to develop and implement data and analytical innovations to create value for the business with insight and recommendations to the leadership team. You would also play a key role in ensuring we deliver the operational plans through detailed analysis across the P&L, monitoring sales, gross margin and costs. We partner the business unit teams to implement action plans.
Your Role
- You will provide regular insight and analysis. You will be an expert in Asda’s data and use it to create insightful analysis that shows actionable opportunities to drive sales and profit.
- You will merge financial and non-financial data to present a complete picture for decision making across the team
- As part of the team that business partners VP and exec level stakeholders, your role will be to support the broader finance team with deep dives, and then translate key learnings to actions that can be shared across the whole estate
- You will provide consolidated summaries on business performance to support P&L reviews with senior stakeholders and support weekly KPI management through timely insightful reports
- You will work closely with the commercial and finance teams in supporting the forecasting process and analysing variances to forecast
- You will also play a key role in budgeting, including financial modelling and communication of this with key stakeholders, as well as continued monitoring of actual performance versus budget on an ongoing basis
- You will work closely with Asda Data Services “ADS” to ensure accuracy and relevancy of reporting coming from that team, and support them with prioritizing production of new reporting that you develop.

- You may have a relevant Profession level Finance or Business qualification or be working towards one
- Ideally 1-2 years experience with strong excel skills, wider data skills beneficial
