Waking Night Support Worker (Learning Disabilities)
The Conifers, Fordham, Colchester, Essex
£12.82 per hour
2 nights week one / 3 nights week two
Important Information
We are able to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK and if necessary be registered with the Displaced Workers Pool. All offers of employment are subject to safer recruitment checks in line with CQC requirements.

We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive Waking Night Support Worker with a calm, observant and dependable approach to join our friendly team supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in our small, independent residential care home in Fordham.
This is more than a night support role, it is an opportunity to provide reassurance, promote wellbeing, respond to individual needs and help ensure the people we support feel safe, comfortable and valued through the night.

About Us
We are a small, independent social care organisation located in Fordham, Colchester.
Our residential care setting supports 7 adults with learning disabilities
5 clients live in our spacious bungalow, ‘The Conifers’, with a beautiful garden and heated outdoor pool
2 clients live in our new, self-contained independent flats, each requiring dedicated 1:1 support for their complex needs.
Current Opportunities
We have one Waking Night Support Worker vacancy available.
Shift pattern
2 nights in week one and 3 nights in week two
Key Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care, including bathing and dressing.
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life.
Support clients with mobility and physical activities.
Carry out welfare checks, monitoring and night-time support tailored to individual needs.
Promote dignity, independence and person-centred support at all times.
Support individuals using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches and follow behaviour support plans.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and wellbeing.
Engage in learning and take advantage of ongoing training opportunities.
About You
Applicants must be aged 18 or over
Full UK driving licence is essential, as public transport is unavailable.
Waking Night Support Worker staff must have their own transport to and from work.
Previous experience working in the care sector is essential, ideally supporting people with learning disabilities.
Confident, responsible, and able to work independently, use initiative and assess risk appropriately.
