Based at Alexander Hosea Primary School, Wickwar, Gloucestershire

25 hours per week/Monday to Friday – AM and PM sessions

Start date 1st September 2026 (induction and handover to take place in July and August)

About the Role

Wickwar Out of School Club is looking for a caring, organised, and enthusiastic Day Manager to lead our breakfast and after-school provision. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and building positive relationships with families and school staff.

The successful candidate will oversee the daily running of sessions, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all children attending the club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day running of breakfast and after-school sessions
  • Lead and support staff during sessions
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of all children attending the club
  • Liaise professionally with parents/carers and staff at Alexander Hosea Primary School
  • Work in partnership with the Business Manager to ensure paperwork, records, and administration are kept up to date
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, behaviour management, and health & safety
  • Help plan and deliver fun, stimulating activities suitable for primary-aged children

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare
  • Experience working with children in a childcare, school, or play setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead a team confidently and positively
  • Reliable, proactive, and approachable manner
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within childcare settings

Desirable

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (would need to complete by 01/09/2026)
