Support Worker - Flexible Hours

About this role

Do you share our belief that no one should ever miss out on life?

Sense is a national charity supporting people with complex disabilities, sensory loss, and learning difficulties to live the life they choose.

At Sense Otterhayes in Ottery St Mary (around 15 minutes from Exeter), our team supports a wonderful group of people across seven supported living homes and a residential service.

It's a genuinely special place

we have an on-site polytunnel for growing produce, an art room, and a creative studio that reflect the rich lives of the people we support. From drama at the Beehive Theatre to bowling, Longleat Safari, and holidays to London and beyond, no one here is left out of life. We're rated 'Good' by the CQC.

We're looking for Support Workers to join us on a permanent basis at £13 per hour. Full-time, part-time, and relief hours are all available, so whatever your availability, we'd love to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who is

Warm, patient, and genuinely interested in people

Flexible and reliable, able to work across a range of shifts

Committed to supporting people to make their own choices and live as independently as possible

Happy to get involved in whatever the day brings, whether that's gardening, a night out, or a city break

This role will include supporting people with

Daily routines, personal care, and medication

Community outings and activities; bowling, Longleat Safari, theatre, and more

Holidays and trips further afield

Building friendships, maintaining employment, and enjoying an active social life

Due to our rural location and the nature of our shifts, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are highly desirable. Free parking is provided on site.
