About this role

TheSpecialistSafeguarding Practitioneris a visible and operationalpostensuringthattheTrustmeets it’s requirementstopromotethewelfareofadults at risk within theMaking Safeguarding Personalphilosophy.

You will contribute to the development of ‘learning’ and deliver a programme of education and training for staff in line with statutory requirements, policy, procedure and learning from case reviews.

Supporting staff is an important part of the role; this will include providing advice on a range of safeguarding, referral to partner safeguarding services and offering supervision for case discussion and reflection.

You will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills – you will be an analytical practitioner able to organise your own workload in a changing environment and be able to work autonomously within a team.

Supportthe Head of Safeguarding tomonitorandimprovestandardsofcareby providingsafeguardingadviceandsupporttostaffTrustWide.

Lead the promotion of good professional practice for safeguarding adults providing specialist advice and expertise on a daily basis to Trust staff

Act as the Nominated Enquirer for relevant safeguarding concerns raised by external agencies (Local Authority/CQC).

ContributetothedevelopmentandfacilitationofSafeguardingtrainingandsupervisionfor identifiedTrustStaff.

This service will continue to be provided across all sites of UHD.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
