Nursery Deputy Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Nursery Deputy Manager / Early Years Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day leadership of a busy and welcoming nursery setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and motivated childcare professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure high-quality Early Years provision, strong staff performance, and excellent care for all children.

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills who is passionate about EYFS, safeguarding, and delivering outstanding early education.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager in the daily running of the nursery

Lead and motivate staff to maintain high standards of care and education

Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, and safeguarding requirements

Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) when required

Support staff development, supervision, and training

Assist with occupancy, parent engagement, and nursery performance

Oversee planning, observations, and children's learning journeys

Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children

Requirements

Experience as a Deputy Manager, Third in Charge, or Senior Practitioner

Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 or above desirable)

Strong knowledge of EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures

Leadership and team management experience

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Passion for Early Years education and child development
