Nursery Deputy Manager

About this role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Nursery Deputy Manager / Early Years Deputy Manager to join a well-established nursery on a full-time basis (40 hours per week).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and motivated Early Years professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career. You will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring high standards of care, education, and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in EYFS, safeguarding, and team leadership, and be passionate about delivering high-quality Early Years provision.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager with daily nursery operations

Lead and motivate staff to deliver high-quality childcare

Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, and safeguarding standards

Act as DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) when required

Support staff supervision, training, and development

Oversee planning, observations, and children’s learning progress

Maintain strong relationships with parents and carers

Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment

Requirements

Experience in a Deputy Manager, Third in Charge, or Senior Practitioner role

Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 desirable)

Strong understanding of EYFS and safeguarding procedures

Leadership and team management experience

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Passion for Early Years education and child development
