The Opportunity

You will teach one or more Humanities subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4, including Religious Education, Geography and History, with opportunities for Key Stage 5 teaching available in some schools.

This is an opportunity to inspire students to ask challenging questions, explore different perspectives and develop the knowledge and skills needed to become informed citizens.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Religious Education, Geography and/or History
  • Encouraging students to think critically, debate respectfully and engage with contemporary and historical issues
  • Using assessment effectively to maximise student progress and attainment
  • Creating inclusive learning environments where every student can succeed
  • Contributing to curriculum development and departmental innovation
  • Supporting students both academically and pastorally
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards and outstanding outcomes
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through enrichment and extracurricular opportunities

We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or teachers due to qualify this year
  • A degree in History, Geography, Religious Education or a related Humanities subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Humanities education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • High expectations of student achievement and behaviour
  • A commitment to inclusion, professional growth and continuous improvement
  • The ability to inspire a love of learning and curiosity about the wider world
