About this role
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated doctors who are committed to developing their careers in Anaesthesia within a supportive tertiary teaching hospital environment. Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise and be eligible to work in the UK. Candidates should have a minimum of two years' postgraduate experience in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine or another relevant acute specialty, with clinical competencies broadly equivalent to CT2/CT3 level practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicate confidently with patients and colleagues, and deliver safe, patient-centred care. They should have experience of managing acutely unwell patients within the limits of their competence and be committed to maintaining high professional standards. We are particularly interested in candidates who have an enthusiasm for education, quality improvement and professional development. Applicants should be able to demonstrate participation in clinical audit, quality improvement activity or clinical governance initiatives and show a commitment to reflective practice and lifelong learning. Whilst not essential, experience in Anaesthesia, previous NHS experience, completion of the UK Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support (ALS) course, and involvement in teaching undergraduate or postgraduate learners would be advantageous. Additional experience in specialist areas such as obstetric, paediatric or critical care anaesthesia would also be welcomed. Candidates with an interest in pursuing higher specialist training, CESR, or further career progression within Anaesthesia are encouraged to apply. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, adaptable and keen to contribute to the educational, clinical and quality improvement activities of a large and dynamic anaesthetic department.
