Small Van Recycling Operative
Torr Quarry | £12.85 per hour | 2 pm - 10 pm | Wednesday to Monday | Temporary
Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Small Van Recycling Operative to work on an ongoing temporary basis at Torr Quarry.
This role will involve the collection of refuse and recycling from residential properties, working in all weather conditions. This is a physically demanding role that will involve lifting and walking alongside the vehicle.
Key Duties
- Collect refuse and recycling from residential properties.
- Manually load and unload recyclable materials, including bins, bags and bulky items.
- Sort and segregate collected materials into the appropriate bays or containers at the recycling facility.
- Monitor materials for contamination and ensure non-recyclable items are removed.
- Operate basic on-site machinery, including balers, compactors or pallet jacks, where trained.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Keep the van cab and work areas clean and hazard-free.
- Report any hazardous waste, fly-tipping or non-compliant items in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
- Previous manual work experience.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting and work on your feet for long shifts in all weather conditions.
- Valid UK driving licence with no more than minor penalty points.
- Ability to travel to Torr Quarry.
- Familiarity with the local area would be beneficial.
- Understanding of waste regulations, environmental compliance and safety procedures.
What We Offer
