We are delighted to invite applications for an enthusiastic, skilled and inspiring Spanish/French Teacher to join our thriving Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department on a 0.70 FTE permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic linguist who is passionate about high‑quality language teaching and committed to fostering a rich, culturally aware learning environment for all students. The start date for this post is the 1st September 2026 but there may be an opportunity to start sooner by negotiation.

About The Role

The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering an engaging and ambitious languages curriculum that equips students with strong communication skills, intercultural understanding, and confidence.

You will

Deliver the Spanish curriculum across Key Stage 3 and 4 and French.

Plan and deliver high‑quality, well‑structured lessons that challenge, support, and inspire learners of all abilities.

Use creative approaches to bring languages alive — integrating real‑world contexts, authentic materials, and opportunities for cultural exploration.

Assess student progress effectively, using data to inform planning and interventions.

Contribute to the development of curriculum resources and departmental initiatives.

Support the wider life of the school through enrichment activities such as clubs, trips, events, and celebrations of linguistic and cultural diversity.

About You

Is a confident linguist with excellent subject knowledge in both Spanish and French.

Is passionate about language learning and committed to nurturing curiosity, fluency, and resilience in young people.

Has high expectations for themselves and their students.

Is reflective and committed to their own professional growth.

Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team.

Brings positive energy, warmth, and a student‑centred approach to their teaching.

Holds QTS or is currently completing teacher training.
