The Opportunity

Are you a resilient and creative Secondary Teacher looking to transition into a specialist setting? Randstad Education is seeking an SEN Teacher for a dedicated secondary provision in Horley.

This school caters to students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Complex Learning Barriers. This is a role for a teacher who excels at building rapport with "hard-to-reach" teenagers and who believes that every student, regardless of their past educational trauma, deserves a fresh start and a pathway to independence.

Your Role & Impact

As a Secondary SEN Teacher, you will move beyond traditional lectures to provide a therapeutic and vocational approach to learning:

Curriculum Adaptation

Deliver a modified KS3/KS4 curriculum that balances core academics with life skills and emotional literacy.

Vocational Guidance

Prepare students for post-16 transitions, focusing on functional skills and entry-level qualifications.

Behavioural Mentorship

Utilize trauma-informed practices to de-escalate crisis moments and teach students how to self-regulate.

EHCP Management

Lead the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring learning targets are both ambitious and achievable.

Multi-Agency Collaboration

Work alongside therapists, social workers, and parents to provide a holistic 360-degree support system for each student.

Who We Are Looking For

Qualified

Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS

Essential. We welcome applications from Secondary subject specialists (English, Maths, Science, or PE) looking to move into SEN.

An understanding of the socio-economic and emotional factors that impact secondary-aged students with SEN.
