Education and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- English degree or equivalent academic qualification
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Effective classroom management skills
- Competence in using data to track and improve student progress
- High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
- Experience of marking for examination boards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience
- Working with children across the age and ability range appropriate to the role
- Previous experience teaching English in a school setting
