M&E Manager

We're recruiting an M&E Manager to join Octavius, a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

Working within our Rail - Managed Stations portfolio, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving critical station environments, where safety, reliability and customer experience are paramount. You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)As an M&E Manager, you'll be responsible for the management, coordination and delivery of planned and reactive M&E works across London's Managed Stations, with a particular focus on high‑profile, live operational environments.

You'll play a central role in integrating reactive fault response with the wider M&E PPM programme, coordinating works alongside event planning and operational requirements to ensure delivery aligns with customer objectives. Throughout, you'll maintain the highest standards of health & safety, quality, environmental performance and cost control, ensuring works are delivered efficiently and with minimal disruption.

Operating across multiple concurrent workstreams, you'll be accountable for

-Delivering ongoing M&E projects to the required quality, programme and maximum commercial performance.

-Coordinating suppliers, PPM teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery across the portfolio.

-Undertaking periodic quality assurance audits of completed and in‑progress M&E works, ensuring adherence to health & safety legislation, environmental standards and industry best practice.

-Managing risk, defects and compliance across live station environments.

You'll be based daily at London Bridge Station, reporting to the Octavius Managed Stations Project Manager, and working closely with the Managed Stations PPM team, commercial team, customer representatives and key stakeholders. You'll also be responsible for daily Building Management System (BMS) checks and the production of daily site reports for London Bridge (full training will be provided where required).

Above all, you'll lead by example, fostering a collaborative culture across Octavius teams, suppliers and customers — ensuring everyone is aligned to a shared vision of safe, reliable and high‑quality delivery, with safety at its core.

You're skilled at

-Leading site‑based delivery teams and supply chains across multi‑disciplined M&E works.

-Managing work safely in operational rail stations, with strong stakeholder engagement.

-Challenging design solutions, resolving technical issues and driving works through to completion.

-Coordinating M&E interfaces with operations, maintenance and wider project teams.

-Applying strong knowledge of BMS systems, defect management and asset performance.

-Managing risk, opportunity and change within a structured governance framework.

-Communicating clearly, building trust and motivating teams under pressure.

You lead by example, take personal accountability, and inspire others to deliver safe, consistent and high‑quality outcomes.

You'll bring… (your wealth of experience & qualifications)

-A proven track record delivering M&E works on Network Rail infrastructure, ideally within managed station environments.

-A mechanical or electrical engineering bias, with experience overseeing multiple MEP systems.

-A strong understanding of health & safety legislation, CDM regulations, quality and environmental standards.

-Experience administering contracts (including NEC) and working closely with commercial teams.

-Confidence managing programme, cost control, supplier performance and project close‑out.

Essential qualifications / competencies

-Degree, HNC or equivalent experience in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

-CSCS Manager card.

-IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS.

Desirable

-PTS / Sentinel

-Formal electrical qualifications (C&G, NVQ or equivalent).

-Temporary Works Coordinator.

-Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project experience.
