Overview
The company is seeking an experienced and highly organised Group Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support across multiple legal teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of legal operations, supporting fee earners, and maintaining high standards of client service.
Key Responsibilities
Provides full secretarial and administrative support to multiple fee earners across different departments
Prepares, formats, and amends legal documents and correspondence with a high level of accuracy
Manages diaries, schedules meetings, and coordinates appointments
Handles incoming calls and client enquiries in a professional and confidential manner
Undertakes audio and copy typing, ensuring timely completion of documents
Opens and maintains client files in line with compliance procedures
Assists with billing processes, including drafting invoices and liaising with accounts
Coordinates document filing, scanning, and archiving
Liaises with internal teams and external stakeholders to support case progression
Ensures adherence to legal and regulatory requirements at all times
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a multi-disciplinary or group environment
Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
Fast and accurate typing skills, including audio typing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
Strong attention to detail
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
Desirable
Experience supporting multiple legal departments (e.g., conveyancing, litigation, private client)
Familiarity with digital dictation systems
Legal secretarial qualification
