Trainee Financial Advisor

About this role

Nene Financial Planning is looking for a trainee financial advisor who can help us bring clarity and confidence to our clients’ long term plans. You’ll play a key role in building, maintaining, and presenting cashflow models that show clients how their financial future could look — and how the right planning can make a real difference.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with numbers, problem solving, and explaining things in a clear, reassuring way.

Once confident in front of clients, we will support you through your formal learning to obtain your Diploma in Financial Advice and prepare you to become a fully fledged Financial Advisor, building your own client bank in line with the clients needs.

You don’t need decades of experience; what matters is accuracy, willingness and commitment to learning and a genuine interest in helping people understand their finances.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and update detailed cashflow models for client meetings
  • Analyse income, spending, assets, and goals to create clear projections
  • Work closely with advisers to prepare client reports and recommendations
  • Present cashflow outputs in a way that’s easy for clients to understand
  • Spot gaps, opportunities, and risks within a client’s financial plan
  • Train to qualify as a regulated financial advisor

What You'll Bring

  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with financial data and software (we’ll train you on our tools)
  • Willingness and commitment to passing diploma level exams
  • Clear communication skills — especially when explaining complex ideas simply
  • A calm, client focused mindset

Why This Role Could Suit You

  • Ideal for someone early in their financial planning career or studying towards a formal financial qualification
  • Part time or flexible hour options available
  • You’ll gain hands on experience with real client cases
  • We’ll support your development — even if you’re still learning the technical side
  • Your work will directly help clients make informed, confident decisions

What We Offer

  • A friendly, supportive team environment
  • Training on our cashflow system and financial planning approach
  • Opportunities to grow into advisory role
  • A meaningful role where your work genuinely impacts people’s lives
  • Flexible working and work from home options available
