Job Purpose
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and motivated Personal Assistant to support an elderly gentleman near King’s Lynn to help him maintain his independence and continue enjoying the things that matter most to him. The role involves assisting with day‑to‑day tasks such as grocery shopping, household routines, attending appointments, and providing companionship.
He enjoys history, politics, medicine, world affairs, and food, and would value a PA who is happy to engage in conversation and accompany him on local outings. He is hard of hearing, so patience and clear communication will be essential.

Near King’s Lynn
Details
- Taking him grocery shopping once or twice a week
- Accompanying him to medical, dental, and eye‑clinic appointments, noting down important information and updating the family where required
- Supporting with general household cleaning
- Assisting with cooking and meal preparation
- Helping him access the upstairs shower safely
- Providing general companionship
- Reminding him to take his medication
- Taking him on local day trips for coffee once a week or every two weeks

Summary Terms and Conditions

Rate of pay
£13.50 per hour

Hours and days
8 hours per week, ideally in 2‑hour blocks (exact days and times negotiable at interview)

Holiday entitlement
Equivalent to 5.6 weeks per year, calculated based on annual hours worked

Training
Free training for all staff via Atlas
- Annual training required if the role includes any of the following:- Manual handling
- Handling hazardous chemicals (e.g., household cleaning products)
- Food handling
- Handling medication

- A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (paid for by the employer)
- Satisfactory references from two referees (one must be your current or most recent employer)
- Successful completion of a 6‑month probationary period
