Our client, a leading educational institution in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join their talented team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our client's team of educators, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored, individualised support to students with a range of special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, implementing personalised learning strategies, and offering one-on-one or small-group support to ensure each student's educational and emotional needs are met. You will also play a crucial role in monitoring progress, maintaining detailed records, and collaborating with parents and carers to ensure a cohesive approach to the students' development.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for working with children and young people, as well as a strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices. Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student are essential. Experience working in a similar role, or a relevant educational or childcare qualification, would be highly advantageous.
In return, our client offers a competitive salary range of £21,000 to £22,000 per annum, along with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development. - Providing one-on-one or small-group support to students with SEN, tailoring your approach to their individual needs

- Fostering positive relationships with parents and carers, and involving them in the learning process
- Relevant educational or childcare qualification is desirable ( NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent)
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a SEN setting
- Strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student
