About this role

This role is for a Trust Resident Doctor ST3/4 (MN37) to help run the One Stop Bladder Pathway (BOSS) which is to be implemented imminently West Herts.

This will include suspected cancer patient triaging, running flexible cystoscopy clinics, attending Image review meetings.

The successful applicant may partake in the daily elective clinical activity of the Urology Department, such as Consultant-Supervised Theatre Lists and outpatient clinics. They will be trained to manage Urological emergencies out of hours.

Furthermore, the post holder will partake in a 1-in-8 on call overnight ( 5pm – 8am), alongside the rest of the on call team. Training will be provided.

The overnight/weekend on call comprises of a 1-in-8, 24/7 middle grade rota - compliant with EWTD and the 2018 Junior Doctor’s Contract as stipulated by NHS Employers.

The department is busy, but is friendly and welcoming and committed to training. This role is ideal for progression through to higher specialist urological training.

With a new hospital planned for Watford, work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital and plans for a neighbourhood healthcare centre in Hemel Hempstead, this is an exciting time to join us.
