About this role

The postholder will have a demonstrable working knowledge of the aims and objectives of Integrated Care and NHS General Dental Practice. They will act as a point of support for Educational Supervisors and IC Dentists involved with the Integrated Care Programme and will contribute to training and delivery of educational programmes relevant to Integrated Care. The postholder will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as outstanding negotiation skills and the ability to motivate others.

The postholder will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as outstanding negotiation skills and the ability to motivate others.

Additional GP01 responsibilities in accordance with the needs of the Postgraduate Dental Dean.

The Training Programme Director for Integrated Care / Early Years is primarily responsible for the commissioning, provision of, and quality managing the Integrated Care Programme which includes many elements of Dental Early Years training. The TPD will be accountable to the Postgraduate Dental Dean under the direction of the Associate Postgraduate Dean for the discharge of his/her responsibilities. The TPD will be instrumental in developing the Integrated Care programme (ICP).

Earlier this year, the Government announced that NHS England will gradually merge with the Department of Health and Social Care, to create a smaller, more strategic centre that reduces duplication and waste.

If successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This retrieves key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the process.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

· Able to monitor the professional and educational development of IC Dentists and report to the Postgraduate Dental Dean or their nominee

· Able to act as organiser of the Integrated Care Programme.

· Able to advise on IC Satisfactory Completion and certification of ICDs and participate in the RCP process where required, ensuring that the ICD’s portfolios which record their assessments, clinical experience and professional development are completed in a timely manner

· Ability to organise and lead the assigned Integrated Care Programme Training Scheme.

· Able to monitor the professional development of the Integrated Care Dentists.

· Able to liaise with Educational Supervisors (ESs) on a regular basis regarding the IC dentists’ progress towards working independently and assist in monitoring the activities of ESs and training practices in conjunction with the Associate Dean to confirm that these are in line with COPDEND Quality Standards.

· Able to provide career information and support to IC Dentists as necessary

· Able to actively contribute to, and where appropriate lead on, projects delegated by the Associate Dean and the Postgraduate Dental Dean including attendance and contribution to early years or dental meetings and other activities as appropriate

· Able to assist with the recruitment and selection and review of Educational Supervisors and training practices, including making practice visits and providing necessary reports

· Able to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentiousinformation where there may be barriers to communication or a requirement to achieve agreement, cooperation or providereassurance

· Able to use initiative and be innovative

· Able to make decisions, implementing policies or making improvements in work area with approval of Associate Dean.
